1 cup Whole milk

12 Thick slices of bread Butter
Powdered sugar (optional)

Beat eggs, sugar, salt, milk and vanilla in a shallow dish

Soak bread in the on top of mixture

Heat butter over average high heat in a pan

Bake each slice of bread in the pan until it turn slightly brown on each side

Serve with brandied lemon butter and lemon slices

Sprinkle with powdered sugar, if preferred and your French toast is ready to be serve
