Put the stand in the put you want it to be for a long time. Once it has water in it, it cannot be moved so make a cautious decision.
Ensure the aquarium is unsoiled and dry. Apply a background that may be painted on the outside (do this outside or in a well ventilated area) or get your hands on and beneath water scene, or a papered solid color. Keep in mind that most design will appear darker once you are looking at them from side to side the aquarium. A back ground adds interest to the aquarium and is an enjoyable addition for the fish. Apply the background to the outside of tank if not directions state otherwise.
Put the aquarium on the stand.
Wash the gravel in a bucket of drinking excellence water to clean it.
If you are using a beneath water filter, set it in the bottom of the tank, and install as the instructions state.
Place clean annoy on the bottom of the aquarium and cover the under gravel filter. The gravel should be one to two inches deep. To add attention, set it in a wavy prototype rather than completely flat.
Fill the aquarium with drinking excellence water to near the top, leaving a few inches so that you can insert the next items without overflowing.
Install heater as heading for. The safe temperature zone is 70 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Adjust the thermostat as essential.
Install pump as heading for. Attach to under annoy filter.
Connect air mineral to pump. This will greatly enhance the oxygenation of the water and improve water excellence for the fish. Well oxygenated water results in brighter colored fish. Poor color is a sign of near to the ground oxygen in the aquarium. The rising cascade of bubbles is a pleasant feature of an aquarium.
Place thermometer on front or surface window of aquarium.
Install the light and pinnacle of the aquarium. The light can be glowing or incandescent. The fluorescent lights are better as bright lights give off more heat.
Feed your fish. All food should be completely inspired within a few minutes. 2 or 3 feedings a day are most excellent.
